Gallows Down - Re-erecting the Gibbet 1979
The gibbet has been damaged and replaced a number of times.
In 1979, a full size oak replacement was made and installed using the skills of village craftsmen.

Watermill Review of the Black Legend in 2011
The Watermill held an event in 2011, to introduce and view the Black Legend.
The Black Legend had been edited and restored using 3 different 1948 copies of the Black Legend.
Some of the surviving members of the cast attended and took part in the event.
This video shows Robert Hardy talking to Charles Leaper, who kept a diary of the making of the film.
